1&12 Ventures was founded in 2009 by Chatib Sjarbaini (1965) and Hans Roeland Poolman (1967).

1&12 is dedicated to building and actively creating value in seed and early-stage innovating companies in a broad range of services and technologies.

1&12 distinguishes itself from corporate investors and banks by it’s independence and ability to act quick and flexible. As successful former managers, company leaders and venture capitalists, the 1&12 team takes a hands-on approach to company building.

In addition to leading investments and contributing as board members of its portfolio companies, 1&12 is directly involved in company strategy, management recruiting, business development and fundraising and often takes on short-term operating roles.
